Malyuska: The Russians deleted one of the most confidential registries during the latest cyberattack
During a cyberattack, the Russians deleted data from the State Register of Civil Status Acts.
This was reported by former Justice Minister Denys Malyuska in a comment for Ukrainska Pravda.
According to him, the deletion of registries by the Russians is not a serious issue because backup copies exist.
"The vast majority of the data that, according to the Russians, was stolen was already freely accessible," he noted.
However, an exception was the information from the State Register of Civil Status Acts.
"This is one of the most closed registers, where information is stored that seems not to contain secrets – that someone was born or got married. But there is a secret that is strictly protected by law – the secret of adoption. This is not the first resource attacked by the Russians since the full-scale invasion," Malyuska added.
He noted that, judging by the statements of the Russians, their cyber specialists were focused on stealing information. However, this time they not only stole but also destroyed the data.
