In Russian Engels, explosions occurred due to a UAV attack

According to a representative of the authorities of this Russian region, there was a drone threat to the region. The region began working with air defense forces and means.

Later, the Saratov governor announced the alleged "downing" of drones.

"There is debris fall on an industrial site in Engels. Fire brigades and emergency services are working on-site," reads a publication by the Russian official on the network.

Meanwhile, the Telegram channel Shot reports from 5 to 12 "loud explosions" heard by the residents of Engels. However, it was later clarified on the channel that there were about 40 explosions.

Russian media also talk about the glow from the fire.

The Telegram channel Mash published a video of the moment a drone flew toward Engels. According to its data, a fire "started in the area of the oil depot" due to the debris.

The channel Exilenova+ also reports about the burning oil facility in Engels, along with publishing footage from the city. Additionally, several photos and videos of this night-time "event" have been circulated online.

According to preliminary data from the Telegram channel Exilenova+, the likely affected oil depot during this night was the "Crystal" Combine of the Russian Reserve.

It was also noted online that it is intended for storing aviation fuel for the local airbase "Engels-2".

Updated: Around five in the morning, the governor of Saratov region Roman Busargin stated that this night Engels and Saratov "were subjected to a massive drone attack".

"There is damage to one of the industrial enterprises. According to preliminary information, no one was injured. Emergency services are working on-site to eliminate the consequences," said the Russian official.
