On the night of February 2, a grenade explosion occurred at the "Arena" hotel on Horodotska Street in Lviv. As a result of the incident, windows in the building were shattered, and one person is reported injured.
This is reported by the police of Lviv region. It is noted that law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of the explosion and the origin of the explosive device.
According to journalists, a grenade explosion occurred on the third floor of the Lviv hotel "Arena".
One man was injured, and windows were shattered. Emergency services were working at the scene, as noted in local Telegram channels.
A video from the scene of the incident was also published online – the footage shows that the doors inside the hotel were completely shattered.
Later, the explosion at the hotel was commented on by the police of Lviv region.
"Around midnight, the police received a report about an explosion on Horodotska Street at one of the hotels in Lviv," the message states.
The police reported that as a result of the incident, a man was injured, and law enforcement officers are currently establishing the circumstances of the event. It is noted that the victim is in the hospital. In addition, the blast wave damaged the windows and doors of the establishment.
It was preliminarily established that a 44-year-old Lviv resident, while on the third floor of the hotel, threw an unknown explosive device. As a result of the explosion, the man received bodily injuries and was hospitalized.
Investigators have already opened a criminal case for "Hooliganism" based on this fact.
