Ukrainian radio station sound engineer exposed as Russian agent — was preparing terrorist attacks in Kyiv

The Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian agent who worked as a sound engineer at a popular Ukrainian radio station and transmitted data to Russian special services.

The perpetrator, a citizen of the Russian Federation, had been living in Kyiv for over ten years and was connected with a number of media groups, including those close to banned pro-Russian political forces. While working at the radio, he secretly photographed SUVs, which he believed belonged to Ukrainian military personnel. He passed the obtained information to the enemy for diversions, including explosions.

Law enforcement officers detained the agent while gathering intelligence near one of the defense facilities in the capital.

He is currently in custody. He is charged with treason. If found guilty, he faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
