Preparing bills: All Ukrainians will be trained to resist the enemy
Iryna Vereshchuk reported that draft laws regarding the preparation of the entire civilian population for resistance to the enemy, developed together with public organizations, will be registered as early as May.
Society’s readiness for war will now be a condition for the existence of our state. This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Iryna Vereshchuk.
According to her, the Office of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the relevant legislative strategy. Representatives from the Ministry of Defence, the Command and General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Education were present.
There were also representatives from the public sector who undertook to assist in the preparation of draft laws and regulations.
“A number of important draft laws should be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada in May. We count on the support of the members of parliament.
This is not just about changes to the legislation.
We are creating a new ecosystem for preparing the entire civilian population for resistance to the enemy.
This is in addition to and parallel with the basic military training of men for service in the military,” Vereshchuk noted.
The national resistance system is designed to ensure society’s preparedness for the challenges of war. “We are laying the foundation for many years to come,” she emphasized.
As previously reported, on April 18, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution regulating the procedure for creating and functioning of centers for preparing civilian citizens for national resistance.
However, this resolution has not been published.
Iryna Vereshchuk then stated that the resolution "On the Functioning of Centers for Preparing Citizens for National Resistance" was developed under the directive of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy through the joint efforts of the Ministry of Defence, the General Staff, the Territorial Defence Forces, regional military administrations, public and volunteer organizations, as well as the Office of the President of Ukraine.
The resolution approves the procedure for the creation and functioning of training centers, which should operate in each region of Ukraine.
