People’s Deputy of Ukraine Yevhen Shevchenko is served a new notice of suspicion of high treason
People’s Deputy Yevhen Shevchenko, who has been in a detention center since November, received a new suspicion from the Security Service of Ukraine for treason committed under martial law.
The SSU claims that an "independent examination" found confirmation in the deputy’s statements that he "worked for the aggressor country not only before but also after the full-scale invasion." In particular, he is accused of "massively spreading Kremlin propaganda fakes, in which he urged Ukrainians to lay down their weapons before the rashists and attempted to discredit the Defence Forces."
Previously, Yevhen Shevchenko already had a suspicion of treason, but without the qualifying feature "during martial law." Now the deputy faces life imprisonment.
