In the Volgograd region, UAVs attacked a power substation: Russians reported "debris falling"

On the night of Sunday, July 27, drones attacked the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation. Explosions were heard, particularly in the village of Oktyabrskoye. A fire broke out at an electrical substation there.

Russians published footage of the UAV strikes and the fire on the internet. Meanwhile, Governor Andrey Bocharov claims that the drones were supposedly shot down, but the debris disrupted the power supply of the railway’s contact network.

"Last night, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted to attack objects in the Volgograd region using UAVs. The air defense units of the Russian Ministry of Defence are working as usual. There are no casualties. As a result of the drone debris falling, the power supply in the railway’s contact network in the Oktyabrsky district was disrupted. Specialists from operational and repair services, as well as Russian Railways, are working on clarifying the damage and eliminating the consequences," he wrote.

The official has not yet acknowledged the fire at the site.

Meanwhile, the footage from the fire site after the attack was accurately geolocated online, and it was concluded that, likely, the electrical substation supplying electricity to the railway was on fire.

It is worth noting that there is a railway station "Zhutovo" in Oktyabrskoye. It is located between Volgograd and Kotelnikovo.

Meanwhile, the Volgograd airport temporarily restricted the arrival and departure of aircraft.
