Vance named two key issues for the meeting of Zelenskyy and Putin

US Vice President Vance stated that there are "two major issues" remaining before the meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin.

«In a way, they are very simple, but at the same time extremely complex. First, Ukraine wants to be assured that it will not be attacked again and that its territorial integrity will be guaranteed in the long term. Russia, on the other hand, seeks to gain certain territories — most of which it has already occupied, though some are still not under its control. This is the essence of the negotiations. Ukrainians want security guarantees. Russians want a specific amount of territory», — he said.

According to him, the US has «received details» regarding the requests of the parties, but Vance believes they can be resolved during the meeting.

«We are working on these issues, but not everything has been clarified yet. And I don’t think the meeting should be postponed until absolutely every detail is resolved before gathering. Sometimes the meeting itself helps to sort out these details», — stated the US Vice President.
