In the capital, the memory of fallen defenders was honored

In Kyiv on Wednesday, October 1, at 9:00 AM, traffic came to a halt on Khreshchatyk Street. On Defender of Ukraine Day, hundreds of Ukrainians honored the memory of heroes who gave their lives for the freedom of our country with a minute of silence.

So, on Wednesday, October 1, on Defender of Ukraine Day, the memory of Heroes who gave their lives for the freedom of our state was honored with a minute of silence. Ukrainians who came to the city center bowed their heads at 9:00 AM.

On Khreshchatyk Street, concerned citizens stood with portraits of Heroes, posters, and called on drivers to stop, get out of their cars, and bow their heads.

In addition, Kyiv residents and city guests honor Ukraine’s defenders at the National Memorial. People bring flowers and light candles near the portraits of the Heroes.
