Fuel oil from tankers in the Kerch Strait has reached the Southern coast of Crimea.

The fuel oil, which leaked from sunken tankers in the Kerch Strait, has spread along the coast of Southern Crimea.

Traces of pollution have been found on the beaches of “Zoryanyi Bereh” and “Blue Bay,” as well as on the beaches of Lyubymivka and Orlivka in the western part of Sevastopol, and in the Kacha area, north of the city. Environmentalists emphasize that M100 grade fuel oil is particularly heavy and resistant to standard cleaning. It does not float but sinks to the bottom or remains in the water column. The beaches can only be cleaned manually.
